In the sky

After watching 2 1/2 films it was time to root through my virgin Atlantic bag i had earlier received from a very made up air hostess. whilst i started to unravel the gems inside this wicked bag of treats, i was listening to a play list of my own songs that would be my soundtrack to the rest of the flight (and probably the rest of the trip looking back) which pretty much consisted of 'Empire state of mind'
and
any other song that coincidentally mentioned new york .
When beginning to land we were told to put everything we owned into the over head lockers. This was because ... (and this is exactly what our slightly mad Scottish head of cabin crew said )
"As we are just about to land the American government ask that you do not turn on any mobile phones until you arrive in the airport itself. We also ask that you put all personal luggage in the over head lockers as we don't want any of you setting fire to your underpants during our arrival , thank you" I don't know if this made me feel more comfortable or more scared!?

When stepping out of the plane the cold weather hit me but i still did not feel as though i was in this magical city that everyone had told me about. Were are all the sky scrapers? Wheres the big fat police men ??.

After eventually getting through customs and collecting our bags it was time to get on the coach to the hotel.
