The NYC Eclectic trend

Pretty much everyone used the paper trend or the do it yourself "home made" trend. Anthropology's window displays were made from recycled plastic cups and thousands of straws which from far away looks pretty good however i didn't believe it was original enough for their brand(this is just the Soho store ). However walking into their store it's another story all together. As soon as i took my first step into the store i found my face constantly glued to the camera. You find yourself not just wanting to take pictures of there over the top visual merchandising but a picture of their surreal funky products. This shop makes you want to have a wooden giraffe in your lounge ,import snow into your sitting room and Tye orange string around your bedroom. This mix of the eclectic wasn't just adapted with this brand but i noticed this throughout the city.. it some how seamed as though each store were competing with who could get the most random object in their store. Anthropology had a giant wooden giraffe in the middle of the store .. juicy couture had various animal heads around the store draped with jewelery and smothered in make up. I wonder what this brings to the brand? why do these stores want to do this? maybe it brings a sense of fun to the brand? maybe they want to create a talking point about the stores so people go in there? Maybe they just did it so people like me will write about how their stores should be visited? Its probably all of these and to be honest i think it works its certainly made it memorable for me.
